Innings of: St Michael's
Innings of: St Andrews
Match report A poor day at the office. Catches win matches. One to forget. Etc. The normal clichés can certainly be used as St Michael’s succumbed to their first defeat of the season at promotion rivals St Andrews on Saturday. Winning the toss and hoping that last week’s poor batting display was a one off, St Michael’s skipper Ian Geddes chose to bat first. However the batting again failed to produce the goods. On a pacey but true batting strip, nobody scored more that the mid 20s to leave the final total of 135 all out woefully short. The St Andrews response was in early trouble when Malc Swann struck twice in his first over. But after that Price and Lloyd took their time before taking a liking to all that was thrown their way. They reached their target in the 26th over to romp home by 8 wickets. At least the showers were nice.
